Gypsy Night MarketIMG_2280

Come join me this Friday evening, December 6th, from 5:30-10-00p.m. at Honolulu’s “First Friday Art Event & Night Market.” I’ll be in the “Chinatown Courtyard,” located street level below the “Chinatown Artist Lofts” at 1126 Smith Street. Finish your Christmas shopping in one place! My current inventory of paintings, art prints, jewelry & more will be on sale for this one night event. I’ll also be having a drawing for a door prize. Just stop by & drop your business card or name & email in the box & I’ll let you know if you’ve won. You needn’t be present at the time of the drawing to win. We’ll also have live music, food & a *Secret Beer Garden* there. What’s not to like? For your information, I also accept the “ID Card” (Hawaii Isle Discount Card,) which will save you an additional 20% off all purchases! Not sure what to buy someone for Christmas or Hanukkah? Buy them a gift certificate for merchandise or one of my art workshops, parties or private lessons!

**Note: It’s a little tricky to find because it’s a courtyard, located between Smith and Maunakea Streets, with an entrance off either street. It lies with the square block between these two streets & N. Hotel Street & N. Pauahi St. (It’s not well marked, so if you can get within this square block, just poke around or ask where the Chinatown Artists lofts are.) One of the entrances is located catty-corner from the Maunakea Marketplace on Maunakea St. Whew! Trust me- that’s the hardest part, the rest will be fun! See you Friday! Thanks!

Hi everybody! It’s been a very busy & adventurous year & I must admit– I’ve been very absent here! What I’ve found is that it’s much easier to follow me on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/SusanConradRisse ~ OR ~ on my Artist Page at http://www.facebook.com/GlitterGypsy. I’m also on Twitter @SusanRisse, LinkedIn( Glitter Gypsy Risse) & am now getting started over on Instagram at glittergypsies. You can also check out my “OMG’s” (One Minute of Glitter) on my YouTube channel gypsyinparadise. I’m posting on Facebook nearly every day, so I really do hope that you will come on over to one or better yet (for me, anyway) ALL of these windows of my world & “friend, follow or like” me! I SO appreciate your following me here & really hope that I’ll see you over there now too! I’m also COMPLETELY REVAMPING my website (this one) http://www.glittergypsy.com to a beautiful, updated visual feast that will include all of my new artwork, offerings AND an on-line store, where you’ll be able to view & purchase my original art, giclees, prints, jewelry & more all in one place! There will also be workshops & other class offerings (on-line & in-person) & other projects that I’ve been working on all year for your perusal.  I’m super-excited to be working on this & can’t wait to open it! It is, however, a huge undertaking, so I’m not exactly sure when I’ll be launching it, but I’ll announce it here, as well as over on my other social media sites. Again, thank you so much for following me here. I’m not going anywhere, but I just wanted to offer you some additional options as to where you can follow me. I really hope that you will.

I’d like to leave you with a quote from Rumi, as well as my latest painting, which is still drying on the easel.

1.) A place or object hallowed from its history or associations; as a shrine of art.

2.) A case, box or receptacle, especially one in which one deposits sacred relics.

3.) Ritual Altar: An altar that contains objects placed for specific intent which have deliberate symbolism. An altar created thoughtfully enhances the ritual’s meaning for the individual or group.

Hi, everyone! I just wanted to take a moment & share my painting, “Earth Angel” with you on this most sacred of days, “Earth Day.” When I look at her and the way in which she is holding the Earth as tenderly & lovingly as a newborn baby in her arms, I am deeply reminded of the importance of treating our “home” with that level of intense care. Our planet & all of it’s abundant resources provide endlessly all that we need, more than we need, really. Yet we seem to be facing one crisis after another, much caused by our general lack of appreciation & abuse of what is more than enough. Let’s all take just a moment today to think of one way that we could tread just a tad more lightly on this Sacred Ground, and then try to carry that forward into our week, year, perhaps even our lifetime. Maybe just recycling a little more, or eating a little more organic food, or re-using, recycling, up-cycling or donating items, rather than just throwing them away. There really is no “away,” is there, because it all stays right here with us. It just gets moved to another place.

Thanks, as always for stopping by & for reading this & supporting me.
