Gypsy Night MarketIMG_2280

Come join me this Friday evening, December 6th, from 5:30-10-00p.m. at Honolulu’s “First Friday Art Event & Night Market.” I’ll be in the “Chinatown Courtyard,” located street level below the “Chinatown Artist Lofts” at 1126 Smith Street. Finish your Christmas shopping in one place! My current inventory of paintings, art prints, jewelry & more will be on sale for this one night event. I’ll also be having a drawing for a door prize. Just stop by & drop your business card or name & email in the box & I’ll let you know if you’ve won. You needn’t be present at the time of the drawing to win. We’ll also have live music, food & a *Secret Beer Garden* there. What’s not to like? For your information, I also accept the “ID Card” (Hawaii Isle Discount Card,) which will save you an additional 20% off all purchases! Not sure what to buy someone for Christmas or Hanukkah? Buy them a gift certificate for merchandise or one of my art workshops, parties or private lessons!

**Note: It’s a little tricky to find because it’s a courtyard, located between Smith and Maunakea Streets, with an entrance off either street. It lies with the square block between these two streets & N. Hotel Street & N. Pauahi St. (It’s not well marked, so if you can get within this square block, just poke around or ask where the Chinatown Artists lofts are.) One of the entrances is located catty-corner from the Maunakea Marketplace on Maunakea St. Whew! Trust me- that’s the hardest part, the rest will be fun! See you Friday! Thanks!

I’m also COMPLETELY REVAMPING my website (this one) http://www.glittergypsy.com to a beautiful, updated visual feast that will include all of my new artwork, offerings AND an on-line store, where you’ll be able to view & purchase my original art, giclees, prints, jewelry & more all in one place! There will also be workshops & other class offerings (on-line & in-person) & other projects that I’ve been working on all year for your perusal.  I’m super-excited to be working on this & can’t wait to open it! It is, however, a huge undertaking, so I’m not exactly sure when I’ll be launching it, but I’ll announce it here, as well as over on my other social media sites. Again, thank you so much for following me here. I’m not going anywhere, but I just wanted to offer you some additional options as to where you can follow me. I really hope that you will.

I’d like to leave you with a quote from Rumi, as well as my latest painting, which is still drying on the easel.

Hi, everyone! I just wanted to take a moment & share my painting, “Earth Angel” with you on this most sacred of days, “Earth Day.” When I look at her and the way in which she is holding the Earth as tenderly & lovingly as a newborn baby in her arms, I am deeply reminded of the importance of treating our “home” with that level of intense care. Our planet & all of it’s abundant resources provide endlessly all that we need, more than we need, really. Yet we seem to be facing one crisis after another, much caused by our general lack of appreciation & abuse of what is more than enough. Let’s all take just a moment today to think of one way that we could tread just a tad more lightly on this Sacred Ground, and then try to carry that forward into our week, year, perhaps even our lifetime. Maybe just recycling a little more, or eating a little more organic food, or re-using, recycling, up-cycling or donating items, rather than just throwing them away. There really is no “away,” is there, because it all stays right here with us. It just gets moved to another place.

Thanks, as always for stopping by & for reading this & supporting me.

***”Earth Angel,” acrylic on canvas, original 16″x20″ painting is available for purchase, as well as prints, cards & giclees. This painting is not yet up on my fineartamerica.com store (Under Artist Susan Risse,)but there may be others there you might like. Angels In My Studio

Are you an artist or creative person?

Do you love angels?

Would you love to connect more deeply with your angels and guides in your everyday life as well as in your creative practice?

Are you interested in learning techniques to incorporate the energies and forms of angels and spirits into your artwork?

If you’ve answered “yes” to any of these questions you are in the right place. Please consider joining us for Angels In My Studio — a 5-month long online course dedicated to both mixed-media art and angelic connections.

Angels In My Studio begins on May 1st 2012. This course is designed to allow beginner and seasoned artists alike to connect more deeply with the angelic realm through their creative practice.

CLICK HERE to register and pay in full – a one time investment of $111

~~~~~
When you join us for Angels In My Studio you’ll have the experience of:
  • connecting energetically to the angelic realm, as well as your personal guides and angels through monthly angelic attunements and activations from Michael Golzmane, a powerful angelic channel and psychic healer with clients throughout the world
  • receiving guidance and support from your higher self, guides, and angels through engaging in written exercises and guided meditations facilitated by Sheri Ann Ponzi
  • developing strategies to bring this powerful connection into your creative practice more consciously
  • being in community with other creatively-minded folks who share your love of angels
As you can see, Angels In My Studio is much more than “just” a course in art technique (though it certainly *is* that). This course is intended for those that are truly open to deepening their connection with the unseen.
Each in-depth video lesson will provide you with both the tools for creating a variety of mixed-media art from a place of connection to the intuitive realm and grounded technical skills in depicting angels, guides, and spirit. Over the course of the 5-months we spend together you will deepen your skills and abilities in allowing your artwork to unfold from a place of conscious connection to spirit.
“Angels In My Studio” lessons will be delivered right on this site each month through embedded and downloadable video, audio, and written word. The first lesson will be released on May 1st. You will be able to download and keep all of the materials forever — and the community forums will stay open through December 31, 2012. So you can take your time and enjoy the journey.
You can see a current schedule of lessons by clicking here.
Hi, everybody, & thanks for checking in on me! Last Friday night (1st Friday Art Event in Honolulu’s Chinatown District) was just fantastic! I’ve posted a couple of photos of my “booth” which was in “Chinatown Courtyard,” off Maunakea St. It’s a lovely courtyard setting, with beautiful exposed brick walls to hang my paintings, with room for a table for jewelry & prints. I met so many wonderful people there & got giddy in the creative environment. Many people stopped to look, compliment or purchase my wares. It was an artsy crowd and we had live flamenco music playing nearby.
I definitely plan to be there again, as it was a huge success & a really fun venue! I’ll keep you posted…
Sign up for my newsletter to remain “in the loop.” You’ll receive a free art gift from me, as well as remain on top of my events.
Aloha……
What a great evening last Thursday (2/2/12) at “The Arts at Marks Garage!” The Hawaii premiere of the film, “The Hooping Life” was played, with follow-up questions being answered by the film’s star, Anah. It was my honor & privilege to both attend & be a donor at this most important fundraiser!Thank you to Sirrka Aho & Lacey Coop, of R(e)Volve Hawaii for allowing me to be a part of this cause, which is so very near & dear to my heart. Happy MLK Holiday, everyone! On the wings of the courageous Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., I, too, would like to say: “I have a dream…” Do you have a dream?? I’ll bet you do. Several years ago, while living in a new city (suburb, really) with my husband and two preschool children, a seed was planted in me. I had no family or friends in this new place, so I spent a lot of time by myself or in the company of the children. I was no longer working as an International Flight Attendant, as I had done for many years. Instead I had chosen, with the support of my husband, to stay home and raise the kids. Firstly, I must say, I’m really happy with that choice. But some of those days, as I’m sure many stay-at-home parents will agree with me on, were extremely challenging. But, gradually, things began to change. I believe that every cloud does, indeed, have a silver lining. And often, behind that cloud, waiting in that silver lining, is an angel. Now, my angels come in many forms.  Sometimes, they appear in dreams or thoughts; sometimes in image, word or prayer. But, I must say that, at least for me, my favorite angels appear in human form. I can cite a number of examples, but I’m certain that if you think about it for a moment, you will know exactly what I’m talking about. Which brings me to my point. I believe in DREAMS, just as Dr. Martin Luther King did. And, I believe in ANGELS. And this is why I am so excited to announce, that I will be teaching in an on-line course, beginning in May, called “ANGELS IN MY STUDIO,” led by Sheri Ann Ponzi! We will be joined by a number of other amazing artists & teachers, as well. So, you see, I believe in myself & my dreams, I believe in the messages received from angels & I believe in YOU! Just look at me for an example. I am now a working artist, & fulfilling yet another dream: teaching an on-line spiritual & creative workshop with an incredible group of artists & teachers. Believe me, if I can do it, you can do it! Sign in for my newsletter to receive all of the latest information on the course right here, up on the right, in the box that days “SIGN ME UP!” (That’s just for my newsletter. Sign-ups for the course will begin in March.) “ANGELS IN MY STUDIO” course description can be found at: http://www.paintingherselfintobeing.com ***P.S.***DON’T FORGET TO COME DOWN TO THE GYPSY NIGHT MARKET IN CHINATOWN FOR FEBRUARY’S FIRST FRIDAY ART EVENT ON 2/3/12 5-10 PM
