Glitter Gypsy in Oahu Open Studios~You’re Invited~November 14-15

Aloha, and welcome to another year of Oahu Open Studios, an island-wide *FREE* ART EVENT! Glitter Gypsy is excited to be participating again this year.

What is Oahu Open Studios? Fifty one local artists will be opening their art studios to the public over the next two weekends. Our event kicks off tomorrow evening at First Friday Arts Walk in Chinatown (November 6,2015, 6:00-9:00p.m.) with our Opening Celebration/Preview Exhibition. Meet the artists & preview their artwork, while enjoying refreshments & live music. The art show will remain hanging there in the lobby of “Bishop Place” (1132 Bishop St. at Fort Street Mall-take the escalator up & pass the security guard to the “Main Lobby”) through November 20th.

“Weekend 1” Artist Open Studios (Central, North Shore & Windward Oahu) is November 7th-8th, 11a.m-6p.m., both days.

How Was Your Summer? Our Champagne Art Salon Was The Perfect Start to Mine…

How was your summer? Mine has been busy, and full of creative adventures! It began in June with the Champagne Art Salon that Lucie Lynch & I co-created, with the theme of “The Voice” emerging. Lucie is a sublime international singer & songwriter that I feel so fortunate to not only to call my friend, but a colleague as well. You’ve just got to check her out on Facebook or at http://www.lucieslighthouse.com. You’re going to love her & her mesmerizing voice & song writing.

So the evening began with an Open Studio Art Salon, mingling & sharing my art with the beautiful group of people that joined us. The champagne was flowing, delicious food was partaken & we all enjoyed the hypnotic views of Koko Head & the endless blue of the Pacific Ocean. What a treat it was! At 7:00pm, we gathered in our living room for an incredible living room concert with Lucie. I unveiled my latest painting, “She Activates Her Voice” & shared my story of her creation with everyone. I explained how this painting literally manifested itself by my using a method known as “Intentional Creativity,” as taught to me by artist & mentor, Shiloh Sophia McCloud. This is a process in which one sets a particular INTENTION for the painting and then intuitively ALLOWS the painting to come into form. A give & take relationship develops between the painting & the artist. Lucie then began the concert by telling us her story about activating her own voice & continued to sing & tell us many more stories through her beautiful music.

I am so grateful to everyone who attended, supported & had fun with us! I am humbly honored to have shared the stage with Lucie. I would also like to thank Leo & Marika Hura of LeoVidPro for filming the event. You can view the synopsis of the evening on their YouTube channel. And a huge shout out to my wonderful husband for helping out in whatever was needed.

Champagne Art Salon

First Friday Art Event~THIS FRIDAY~12/6 in Honolulu’s Chinatown~Come on by! (Sorry for the repeat-forgot to say what this link was about)

Come join me this Friday evening, December 6th, from 5:30-10-00p.m. at Honolulu’s “First Friday Art Event & Night Market.” I’ll be in the “Chinatown Courtyard,” located street level below the “Chinatown Artist Lofts” at 1126 Smith Street. Finish your Christmas shopping in one place! My current inventory of paintings, art prints, jewelry & more will be on sale for this one night event. I’ll also be having a drawing for a door prize. Just stop by & drop your business card or name & email in the box & I’ll let you know if you’ve won. You needn’t be present at the time of the drawing to win. We’ll also have live music, food & a *Secret Beer Garden* there. What’s not to like? For your information, I also accept the “ID Card” (Hawaii Isle Discount Card,) which will save you an additional 20% off all purchases! Not sure what to buy someone for Christmas or Hanukkah? Buy them a gift certificate for merchandise or one of my art workshops, parties or private lessons!

**Note: It’s a little tricky to find because it’s a courtyard, located between Smith and Maunakea Streets, with an entrance off either street. It lies with the square block between these two streets & N. Hotel Street & N. Pauahi St. (It’s not well marked, so if you can get within this square block, just poke around or ask where the Chinatown Artists lofts are.) First Friday Art Event–March 2, 2012–5:00-10:00pm–Glitter Gypsy Returns!

Yeah! I’ll be back at the “Mendonca Building Courtyard”-1126 Smith St. Honolulu 96817,(Chinatown)for the 1st Friday Art Event again next month, 3/2/12 from 5-10pm. The Courtyard is located off Maunakea AND Smith St. (2 entrances), near Hotel St. Look carefully, as it’s an INTERIOR Courtyard, & easy to miss unless you look in. There are also loft galleries & a Vintage Shop upstairs, so look for those signs,too. In addition, Mark’s Garage will be hosting a fun “Biergarten,” including live music, food & of course, BEER at the end, IN the courtyard area. I’ll be there again with my art, prints, jewelry & more. I will be having another give-away drawing, so be sure to stop by & drop your business card in my box & I’ll let you know if you’ve won. February’s winner was Sarah Jo from San Francisco! Gypsy Night Market in Honolulu’s Chinatown

Hi, everybody, & thanks for checking in on me! Last Friday night (1st Friday Art Event in Honolulu’s Chinatown District) was just fantastic! I’ve posted a couple of photos of my “booth” which was in “Chinatown Courtyard,” off Maunakea St. It’s a lovely courtyard setting, with beautiful exposed brick walls to hang my paintings, with room for a table for jewelry & prints. I met so many wonderful people there & got giddy in the creative environment. Many people stopped to look, compliment or purchase my wares. It was an artsy crowd and we had live flamenco music playing nearby.

I definitely plan to be there again, as it was a huge success & a really fun venue! I’ll keep you posted…

Glitter Gypsy’s Art & Adventures Update!

Aloha All! February is going to be a full month!

Glitter Gypsy’s Art & Adventures is actively supporting local events and wants to share the fun with you. From film openings to Night Markets to On-line Art Workshops, the sparkle is being spread!

First of all, Glitter Gypsy’s Art and Adventures is thrilled to participate in the Hawaii premier of “The Hooping Life” this Thursday, February 2nd from 6-9pm at Arts @ Marks Garage

The Hooping Life Film Screening is a fundraiser event raising awareness and funds.

50% of all proceeds to benefit GirlFest Hawaii

Susan Risse will be donating an original framed painting for the silent auction. She will also have a fun drawing for an art prize AND will be donating 1 Mentorship to an at-risk woman or girl. (all information gathered will be strictly confidential-details at event.)

The film documents the hula-hoop phenomenon and supports art, dance and culture and is brought to you by R(e)volve Hawaii and local sponsors like Glitter Gypsy, Susan Conrad Risse.

“Angels In My Studio” Course will be featuring Susan Risse as a guest teacher in March. The transformational process of the art we create can be powerful. Join Susan as she shares her methods of both connecting with the divine and imparting its message through art. “Angels In My Studio” lessons will be delivered each month through embedded and downloadable video, audio, and written word.
