**Please note our *DATE CHANGE only.* It’s come to our attention that our *ORIGINAL DATE* of 1/16/16 is on the MLK Holiday long weekend, so we’ve changed the Event to 1/30/16. If you’re feeling anything like we are (maybe a bit overwhelmed, over-scheduled, or just plain exhausted after all of the Holiday Festivities, you may find this to be a welcome change!)

As you ease into this threshold time of a brand new year ahead, we invite you to take some time to dream, meditate, spend time in nature or just begin browsing through magazines, old calendars, maps & books. When you feel an intuitive connection to an image, word or phrase, just tear it out & begin your “Vision Board Folder.” Don’t worry about ‘why’ you’re drawn to something, just trust that there’s a reason for it. Stay out of your head & instead, remain in an open & curious heart space. As we begin to assemble our Vision Boards on the day of the event, connections will begin to form & puzzle pieces will perhaps(??) begin to make sense. This process is about tuning inwards & listening to your soul’s longings & desires. If you don’t have time to do this ahead of the workshop, that’s fine too.

So, yes, please join us at Glitter Gypsy Studio for this magical Vision Board workshop! Just show up; we’ll take care of the rest. You’ll begin your day being nourished & nurtured by enjoying a gourmet, healthy & scrumptious feast (vegetarian, vegan, gluten & dairy-free options available.) Think delicious salads, fresh herbs, local tropical fruits & fresh seafood, if desired–yum! We’ll then go into a women’s visioning circle to get grounded & connected. Next, the creation of YOUR vision board! No art experience necessary & all materials & instructions provided. Find your “spot” to work- on our ocean-view & Koko Head facing lanais, in the courtyard around the swimming pool, on a cozy chair or cushion, wherever you feel comfortable! Do your own thing, or feel free to ask for guidance. As a special BONUS TREAT, singer/songwriter LUCIE LYNCH will be inspiring us with her angelic voice & beautiful songs! Delicious & nutritious chocolate shakes will be served when you need a little boost mid-afternoon–mmmm… At 4:00, we’ll gather for our closing circle & sharing–breakthroughs, insights, discoveries.

Glitter Gypsy in Oahu Open Studios~You’re Invited~November 14-15

Aloha, and welcome to another year of Oahu Open Studios, an island-wide *FREE* ART EVENT! Glitter Gypsy is excited to be participating again this year.

What is Oahu Open Studios? Fifty one local artists will be opening their art studios to the public over the next two weekends. Our event kicks off tomorrow evening at First Friday Arts Walk in Chinatown (November 6,2015, 6:00-9:00p.m.) with our Opening Celebration/Preview Exhibition. Meet the artists & preview their artwork, while enjoying refreshments & live music. The art show will remain hanging there in the lobby of “Bishop Place” (1132 Bishop St. at Fort Street Mall-take the escalator up & pass the security guard to the “Main Lobby”) through November 20th.

First Friday Art Event~THIS FRIDAY~12/6 in Honolulu’s Chinatown~Come on by! (Sorry for the repeat-forgot to say what this link was about)

Come join me this Friday evening, December 6th, from 5:30-10-00p.m. at Honolulu’s “First Friday Art Event & Night Market.” I’ll be in the “Chinatown Courtyard,” located street level below the “Chinatown Artist Lofts” at 1126 Smith Street. Finish your Christmas shopping in one place! My current inventory of paintings, art prints, jewelry & more will be on sale for this one night event. I’ll also be having a drawing for a door prize. Just stop by & drop your business card or name & email in the box & I’ll let you know if you’ve won. You needn’t be present at the time of the drawing to win. We’ll also have live music, food & a *Secret Beer Garden* there. What’s not to like? For your information, I also accept the “ID Card” (Hawaii Isle Discount Card,) which will save you an additional 20% off all purchases! Not sure what to buy someone for Christmas or Hanukkah? **Note: It’s a little tricky to find because it’s a courtyard, located between Smith and Maunakea Streets, with an entrance off either street. It lies with the square block between these two streets & N. Hotel Street & N. Pauahi St. (It’s not well marked, so if you can get within this square block, just poke around or ask where the Chinatown Artists lofts are.) Hi everybody! It’s been a very busy & adventurous year & I must admit– I’ve been very absent here! You can also check out my “OMG’s” (One Minute of Glitter) on my YouTube channel gypsyinparadise. I’m posting on Facebook nearly every day, so I really do hope that you will come on over to one or better yet (for me, anyway) ALL of these windows of my world & “friend, follow or like” me! I SO appreciate your following me here & really hope that I’ll see you over there now too! I’m also COMPLETELY REVAMPING my website (this one) http://www.glittergypsy.com to a beautiful, updated visual feast that will include all of my new artwork, offerings AND an on-line store, where you’ll be able to view & purchase my original art, giclees, prints, jewelry & more all in one place! What an amazing event at the Kahala Resort in Honolulu, HI that I attended on Saturday. Professors Bliss Lau (Designer) & Jasmine Takanikos (Branding Strategist)from Parsons The New School of Design in NYC held a Master Class & Networking Workshop full of incredible information for creative entrepreneurs. Such a rare chance to learn from such successful leaders in their respective fields.I’m always eager to learn new information & new ways approaching business.

Damian led us through not only the techniques & execution of completing our very own Icons from start to finish, but also gave us the background & significance of this ancient “Icon Writing” tradition.

Hello, dear friends! How have you been? I’ve been away for a while due to some health issues, so I REALLY appreciate your stopping back in here! I’ve missed you.

Anyhoo, I’m really excited to announce my next event, and I do hope that you can join me! It’s on the evening of 12/12/12 in Honolulu, Hawaii at Glitter Gypsy Studio. Mark it on your calendar, ok? It’s not only on the night of the “New Moon,” which symbolizes new beginnings, but numerically, it’s also really significant. The next time we have a numerical line-up like this will be in 01-01-2101! And it’s also my Birth-day! Not to mention that my Birth-Day is & has always fallen on the Feast Day of the Virgen of Guadalupe, Protectress of all of the Americas & my Patron Saint. So…if these aren’t enough reasons to celebrate & create in community, then I don’t know what is?! After a rough year for me & for so many others that I know, would you like to join me for an evening of abundant new energy? This potent combination of the New Moon’s energy, the numerical energy of 12/12/12, the Feast Day of “Our Lady,” revered by so many around the World & the energy of me beginning a brand new year in my life is sure to create a powerfully energizing night! Won’t you please join me as we vision our future together in a creative way?

What to expect:

**5:30-6:15p.m.: Drinks, food & socializing

**6:15-6:45p.m.: Circle Ritual: Introductions, Connection, Ritual

**6:45-8:45p.m.: Creating Your “Vision Board” for 2013 by visually documenting the coming year as you see & desire it to be. We will be journalling, collaging, embellishing & of course, !glittering! onto your Vision Board to cement your intentions into your psyche & then send them out into the Universe. You will leave with not only a beautiful piece of art that you’ve created, but a tangible visual reminder to refer to throughout the coming year. Setting clear intentions &  seeing visual reminders dramatically improves your success rate for living your “Dream Life” in 2013. By ‘putting it out there’ rather than just having “spinning thoughts” in your head allows it to become REAL. **NO PREVIOUS ART EXPERIENCE NECESSARY.**

**8:45-9:15p.m.: Closing Circle Ritual with community sharing

This is my gift to all of you. I would like to share the energy of my Birth-day & the energy of 12/12/12 & the New Moon with anyone who like to do this. Practicing “Intentional Creativity” (as taught to me by my teacher & mentor, Shiloh Sophia McCloud) has completely changed my life, so I’d like to share this gift with you, as well. Would you like to re-boot, wipe the slate clean & begin anew in 2013? Then this is the event for YOU!

And it’s FREE. There’s no catch. I just want to share this evening with those of you who feel that this is something that speaks to you & that you would feel empowered by doing! And it’s going to be FUN–I promise! (If you’d like to bring some food or drink to share with the group, or leave a donation in the box to cover the cost of my supplies, that would be gratefully appreciated. But, again, there is NO expectation of anything FROM you, I just want to share my time, energy & creativity WITH you. Also, if you’d like to bring a personal item to place on the alter as an offering or prayer, you are welcome to do that, as well.)

So—If this is something that you’d like to do, please leave a comment below or email me at susan@glittergypsy.com so I can plan accordingly. Space is limited, so if you’d like to come, please let me know as soon as possible. Also, as the date approaches, begin by spending some quiet time with yourself every day or every other day, at least. Even 10 or 15 minutes is enough. Go through magazines, books & the like & just randomly tear out images, words, quotes, etc. that “speak to you.” (There doesn’t need to be any rhyme or reason to your process–just tear it out. Let your subconscious mind, rather than your conscious mind do the work for a change. I’ll also have plenty of supplies here, but by doing this in advance, you’ll have more to work with.) Also try doing some journalling or free-writing during this quiet time & allow things to just flow onto the page. Again, don’t think about it too much, just write down what comes to you. There’s no judgement here, we’re just trying to activate our “right brains,” since we spend most of our time in our “left brains” doing more logical type work. We just want to balance our right & left brains, so that creativity can inform our daily lives. It is a great way to achieve a more balanced life. Instead of always thinking, planning, doing, making lists & the like, if we can also tap into our just being-ness, dreaming, doodling, painting, etc., that balance is more accessible. We sort of have to re-train our brains, otherwise, we just end up in stress & burn-out much of the time. You can actually get MORE done by using BOTH sides of your brain & end up feeling happier & more joy-full!

OK, you ready? I can’t wait to spend time with you, my friends! It’s going to be awesome & inspiring!!!
