“Portals to the Soul” Artist in Residency Artist Talk

Opening Today! Gallery Show & Artist Residency.

La Huipilista Artspace, San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, is presenting an exhibition of my recent and current work titled “Portals to the Soul.” You are cordially invited to join us as we open the exhibit on Friday, October 12 from 5 to 7 pm.

My exhibition is a visual narrative of my journey as an artist, offered through the lens of the divine feminine perspective: the heart and soul of experience. These works invite the viewer into a dreamscape of hidden portals that offer discovery of one’s own soul journey. Embedded symbols in individual pieces inspire the question, “What dreams are hidden inside the corners of your own heart?”

My approach to art is deeply connected to the expression of the divine feminine, psycho-spiritual studies and Intentional Creativity.  The dynamic approaches I use, such as art therapy, dream work, shadow and depth work are based on my ability to access the deeper realms of  personal and universal healing.

With this interactive installation, “Love Letters to the Children and Families” I am inviting visitors to share comments, wishes and letters for those currently impacted by the U.S. administration’s border separation policy. It is my intention is to create a collective field that supports and holds these families energetically in the arms of the Divine Mother.

What an amazing event at the Kahala Resort in Honolulu, HI that I attended on Saturday. Professors Bliss Lau (Designer) & Jasmine Takanikos (Branding Strategist)from Parsons The New School of Design in NYC held a Master Class & Networking Workshop full of incredible information for creative entrepreneurs. Wow! What an incredible experience it was 2 weeks ago when Fr. Damian Higgins of Mendocino, CA graced us with his presence & “Classical Iconography Workshop!” Fr. Damian led us through not only the techniques & execution of completing our very own Icons from start to finish, but also gave us the background & significance of this ancient “Icon Writing” tradition.

Happy Earth Day!

Hi, everyone! I just wanted to take a moment & share my painting, “Earth Angel” with you on this most sacred of days, “Earth Day.” When I look at her and the way in which she is holding the Earth as tenderly & lovingly as a newborn baby in her arms, I am deeply reminded of the importance of treating our “home” with that level of intense care. Our planet & all of it’s abundant resources provide endlessly all that we need, more than we need, really. Yet we seem to be facing one crisis after another, much caused by our general lack of appreciation & abuse of what is more than enough. Let’s all take just a moment today to think of one way that we could tread just a tad more lightly on this Sacred Ground, and then try to carry that forward into our week, year, perhaps even our lifetime. Maybe just recycling a little more, or eating a little more organic food, or re-using, recycling, up-cycling or donating items, rather than just throwing them away. There really is no “away,” is there, because it all stays right here with us. It just gets moved to another place.
